Bisi Fannoh earned a degree in Film and Television Communication from the University of Houston and a Minor in Theater Arts Performance. Her experience spans over 30 years in the industry as an actor, teacher and talent scout. Credits include: TV: The District, The West Wing, & Divided City; Theater: Shaking the Mess out of Misery and Outdoor Recess at the Arena Players in Baltimore Maryland and the Vagina Monologues at Howard Community College Playhouse; Commecials: Verizon Wireless, Circuit City, Toyotam JC Penny, Boston Market and Loriel Cosmetics. She is The Performance Arts Group Leader for Zion Woodbridge Church and a talent chairpersos for Westridge PTA Talent Showcase.
Our Drama/Musical Theater Department runs from September - May culminating in an in house performance.
The Musical Theatre for Teens and Youth is a training program in which participants will rehearse and perform a full or partial musical production under the guidance of the drama teacher. The class will allow young artists to explore challenging, socially relevant material from the contemporary musical theatre world as they receive voice, movement and acting training essential for professional-level performance. Classes are open to experienced performers as well as those new to the craft. While the emphasis is on performance, students will also receive training in a wide variety of musical theatre disciplines during the class, including vocal production, acting a song, proper breathing technique, movement, building a character, ensemble acting, and more.
Tiny Tots 4-6
Students learn stage directions, explore their emotions and how to project them, learn the beginnings of improvisation, and memorize lines through play and music.
Students will practice the basic skills required to be an actor. Begin your journey with an exploration of the actor’s vocal, physical and psychological instrument while playing fun games, creating characters and performing with an ensemble. Using games and exercises designed to stimulate creativity, think quickly in the moment and encourage risk-taking (while having a ton of fun!), participants will create motivated characters in dynamic scenes
Teen Drama -12+
Students will play fun theatre games while learning essential acting skills and building an ensemble. Students will explore the basic principles of acting, including listening and responding, risk-taking and making bold choices.this class will cover the basics of auditioning including selecting appropriate material, making clear choices with the text, rehearsing at home and presenting your best self at the audition. Students receive individual coaching on a contemporary or classic monologue. Students will select and have a 1-2 minute monologue memorized for this class which they will perform for final performance along with shorter scenes and scenarios
