Dance Etc. School of the Arts Terms and Conditions

TUITION 

Dance, Art & Drama Classes: The tuition rates have been evenly divided for the 10 month school year (9 for drama and art), including holidays, at a fixed monthly rate. Tuition is due and payable the 1st of each month. By completion of the automatic payment section, you are authorizing automatic withdrawal of the tuition on the 1st of the month as well as any other stated fees (see below).  Any account not paid by the 7th of the month will incur a $15.00 late fee. Tuition will be prorated for the first month of enrollment only. There is a $25.00 charge for all returned checks. After two returned checks, only cash, credit card, or money order required.

In order to avoid any unforeseen billing surprises for our families, students whose accounts have not been paid for 2 consecutive months will be dropped from their classes and the student(s) will not be allowed to participate in any class. In order to be reinstated, all unpaid balances and fees must be paid.

If any student is dropping a class or dropping from the studio, the parent must fill out a withdrawal form, located at the front desk, BEFORE the beginning of the month or the account will be billed for the month.

No phone calls will be accepted as notice of withdrawal.

CONCERT FEES & PAYMENT SCHEDULE

November 10th – Costume deposit due. $50.00 deposit per costume. NO costume will be ordered without a deposit. Costumes ordered late will require additional shipping fees to be paid by the student.

December 15th – Deadline for costume order. Costumes ordered after this date will be subjected to additional fees.

NO refunds or credit for costume deposits will be given after January 1st regardless of whether or not the student will participate in the recital.

March 1st – Recital Fee Due. $20.00 Recital Fee per family. This fee is non-refundable.

April TBD – Tickets will be on sale at the Hylton Box Office. You must purchase them directly from the box office. Ticket prices for 2017 will be $20/ticket. Under 2 are free lap tickets.

April 10th – Costume Balance Due. Please check at the front desk to see if you have a balance due on your costume.

June – Prior to the recital, all account balances must be brought to zero at this time. No costume will be handed out to the student and the student will not perform in the recital unless ALL balances have been paid including tuition, costume, recital fee, and late fees.

ABSENCES

Absences are generally discouraged. If the student must be absent, please call the studio at (703) 878-1000 and leave word for the teacher. IF there is a twin class available, students are encouraged to make up their missed classes by filling out a Make-up card located at the front desk. Ages 10 and over may make up a missed class in one of the support classes. The class must be made up within 30 days. However, whether you make up the class or not, the monthly fee remains the same. There will not be any refunds or credits for missed classes.

 **If the student is enrolled in our Progressive Ballet Program, all absences must be made up.**

HOLIDAY AND EMERGENCY CLOSINGS

Classes are held on most minor holidays. We will post signs in the studio and on the website (www.DanceEtc.com) for any pre-determined closings. We will also include closing dates in the newsletters. In the event of inclement weather, please call the studio or visit us on Facebook or Instagram to confirm whether or not we will hold classes. (703-878-1000 ext. 3) We do not necessarily close when Prince William County Schools close. Holiday closings are already taken into consideration regarding tuition charges and will not be made up or credited.

NEWSLETTERS


We send newsletters via e-mail from October through May as well as have hard  copies on hand in the studio. It is the best way for us to communicate with you and to make sure you have all the information you need throughout the year.

ON TIME & READY

Please make every effort to make sure you or your child are on time for class and ready to participate. Any dancer who arrives 15 minutes late for class will not be allowed to dance. This is for the safety of the dancer. Without proper warm-up dancers are susceptible to injury. However, they should remain to observe the class. Please also make sure your child is picked up promptly after class.

VISITING CLASSES

Parents are encouraged to visit the first class of each month, October through February. After February, classes will be focused on learning recital choreogrophy.

DANCE CONCERT

The Spring Concert will be held in June. Please read the newsletters throughout the year for additional information.

ART DEPARTMENT

All art students are asked to bring a large sketchpad, a #2 pencil and a good eraser to their class. Please bring a sample of their work to the first class so it can be evaluated to give the instructor a starting point. The art classes follow the same calendar as the drama classes.

DRAMA & MUSICAL THEATER DEPARTMENT

There will be a performance scheduled for the Drama & Musical Theater students in late May. Performance fees will apply and will be collected prior to the performance. No one will be permitted to perform unless all tuition, late fees, performance fees, etc. have been satisfied.                                                                                                                                                
CompuDance Conditions

When students are registered for classes with Dance Etc. School of the Arts through CompuDance Software, the parents or responsible party is authorizing their credit card to be charged for the amount agreed upon.

Your Email and Personal information is not for sale
We collect standard customer information. CompuDance understands how important this information is to you. We are committed to keeping it strictly confidential. Your privacy is not for sale. We will never sell, rent, or otherwise abuse the private information you have trusted us with.

We do not SPAM or sell your email addresses
CompuDance has an anti-spam policy that prohibits selling, sharing, or otherwise abusing your email address. We collect it to serve as your login identifier and for our systems to communicate updates to you.

Data security 
CompuDance uses SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption for entering your personal information into our system.. We use Meritus Payment Solutions as our third-party credit card processing company. You will setup your own Meritus Payment Solutions account which we do not have access to.

About your Privacy
We sometimes work with a third-party through affiliate agreements and website co-brands. We are not and cannot be responsible for the privacy policies of these third-party sites or how they treat information about their users. We do not provide these sites with your information. Beyond that, we encourage you to review their privacy policies to ensure they are up to your standards.

Legal disclaimer
We use reasonable precautions to keep the personal information disclosed to us secure. We are not responsible for any breach of security or for any actions of any third parties that receive the information. We may also disclose personal information when required by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary in order to conform to the edicts of the law or comply with a legal process served on our company.

Policy changes
Our privacy guidelines will not change without your knowledge. We will notify you by email of any significant updates to this policy or any notable changes to the way we collect or use personally identifiable information.
